A web-based system called SIDES (State Information Data Exchange System) will allow employer agents/claims administrators and employers to respond electronically, automatically, and securely to requests for unemployment insurance information. This system will be available very soon from the NYS Department of Labor.
SIDES helps employers respond to questions about their former employees’ termination quickly and completely. This prevents payments from going to people who have not earned benefits, while preserving the integrity of the UI trust fund and the employer account. Preventing fraud ultimately saves employers money.

Please note: SIDES has specific system requirements, which are available on the SIDES website. The NYS Dept. of Labor suggests checking these requirements now so employers are prepared to use SIDES when it becomes available through the NYS Department of Labor website.
