We recommend not putting off or ignoring your 2015 year end tax planning. It\u2019s important to look at your finances and think about any changes you will be making for the rest of this year and into early 2016. Some things to consider include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Adding\/decreasing your employee\u2019s hours during the holiday season<\/li>\n<li>Awarding a <a title=\"Holiday Bonuses and Gifts for Nannies\" href=\"\/household\/holiday-bonuses-gifts-nannies\/\" target=\"_blank\">year-end bonus<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Adjusting salary for 2016<\/li>\n<li>Making note of any\u00a0<a title=\"2016 Minimum Wage Changes\" href=\"\/household\/2016-minimum-wage-changes\/\" target=\"_blank\">minimum wage increases in your state<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Vacation pay for the holiday season<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Also note that for 2016, the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.socialsecurity.gov\/OACT\/COLA\/CovThresh.html\" target=\"_blank\">domestic employee coverage threshold<\/a>\u00a0amount will increase to $2,000, up from $1,900 this year; this means that you are required to pay taxes if you pay a nanny at least $2,000 for the year.
