Commuting to and from the family\u2019s home is usually <em>not<\/em> considered reimburseable mileage.<\/p>\n<p>Every year the IRS issues a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irs.gov\/tax-professionals\/standard-mileage-rates\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">standard mileage rate<\/a> for the year. This rate is used to calculate the deductible costs of driving a vehicle for business. The standard mileage rate for 2025 is 70 cents per mile for business miles driven, an increase of 3 cents from 2024.
