It requires that all employers in Massachusetts \u2013 including household employers \u2013 provide 40 hours of sick leave to employees annually. Generally speaking, the new law will not likely affect household employers as far as <em>paid<\/em> sick leave goes. Employers with ten or fewer employees (including temporary and part-time workers) will be required to provide sick leave, but may provide it on an <em>unpaid<\/em> basis. Only employers with 11 or more employees must provide <em>paid<\/em> sick leave.<\/p>\n<p>In anticipation of the law, the Attorney General for the state has posted the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mass.gov\/ago\/doing-business-in-massachusetts\/workplace-rights\/leave-time\/earned-sick-time.html\" target=\"_blank\">Earned Sick Time Notice of Employee Rights<\/a>\u00a0which must be posted by Massachusetts employers by July 1st. All employers in Massachusetts must display the poster in a conspicuous location.
