However, some <a title=\"Hiring a Nanny Through an Agency\" href=\"https:\/\/gtm.com\/household\/hiring-through-nanny-agency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">household employment agencies<\/a> may offer a nanny work agreement template or provide samples obtained from its other clients. Employers may extrapolate ideas from template samples, and obtain input from friends or colleagues who have developed their own work agreements for their own household help.<\/p>\n<p>The following list of key elements provides an overview of the common components that are included in most work agreements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Elements of a Work Agreement<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><i>Recitals<\/i><\/strong>\u2014Employer is an individual and a Household Employer, resident of ___________(state), and over the age of 18.<\/li>\n<li><strong><i>Employment<\/i><\/strong>\u2014Employment under this agreement is to begin on ____________ and continue unless sooner terminated as provided herein.<\/li>\n<li><strong><i>Compensation<\/i><\/strong>\u2014Subject to the following provisions of this agreement, the Employer agrees to pay the Employee a gross compensation hourly rate of $_______. (An explanation of <a title=\"Gross or Net Wages for Nannies\" href=\"\/household\/gross-or-net-wages\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">gross vs net income<\/a> is advisable).<\/li>\n<li><strong><i>Benefits<\/i><\/strong>\u2014Employee is entitled to _____ days of <a title=\"Vacation Time for Nannies\" href=\"\/household\/vacation-time-for-nannies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">paid vacation<\/a> annually. The vacation must be scheduled thirty days in advance and agreed to by the employer. Vacation is based upon normal payment for a forty-hour workweek.<\/li>\n<li><strong><i>Terms and conditions of employment<\/i><\/strong>\u2014Employee may not drink alcohol, use illegal drugs, or smoke while on duty for the employer.<\/li>\n<li><strong><i>Termination of agreement<\/i><\/strong>\u2014 Employer may <a title=\"Terminating Your Nanny\" href=\"\/household\/terminating-your-nanny\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">terminate employment<\/a> for violation of the work agreement that holds an employee may not drink alcohol, use illegal drugs, or smoke while on duty for the employer.<\/li>\n<li><strong><i>Modifications and interpretation<\/i><\/strong>\u2014The <a title=\"Nanny Job Descriptions\" href=\"\/household\/nanny-job-descriptions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">job description<\/a> may change by mutual consent.
