{"id":5604,"date":"2015-03-05T12:23:41","date_gmt":"2015-03-05T17:23:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gtm.com\/household\/?p=5604"},"modified":"2016-02-24T14:10:11","modified_gmt":"2016-02-24T19:10:11","slug":"washington-dc-pay-rate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gtm.com\/household\/washington-dc-pay-rate\/","title":{"rendered":"Washington DC Pay Rate Notices in Effect"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-5607 img-rounded\" alt=\"washington dc pay rate\" src=\"https:\/\/gtm.com\/household\/wp-content\/uploads\/743424.jpg\" width=\"299\" height=\"200\" \/>Following up on information we <a href=\"\/household\/washington-dc-wage-theft-prevention-act\/\" target=\"_blank\">reported in December<\/a>, Washington D.C. employers, including household employers and temporary staffing agencies, must comply with a new amendment to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.proskauer.com\/publications\/client-alert\/dc-amends-wage-theft-act-to-increase-employer-obligations-and-penalties\/\" target=\"_blank\">Washington D.C. Wage Theft Prevention Act of 2014<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For household employers, Washington DC pay rate notices &#8211; the most relevant and important piece of this law &#8211; took effect this week: all employees must be provided a written pay rate notice. The notice must be in English and in the employee\u2019s primary language (if applicable), and must contain the following information:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The name of the employer;<\/li>\n<li>The physical address of the employer (and a mailing address, if different);<\/li>\n<li>The telephone number of the employer;<\/li>\n<li>The employee\u2019s rate of pay and overtime rate of pay;<\/li>\n<li>The employee\u2019s regular payday<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Employers must provide this notice to all newly hired employees, as well as provide amended notices to existing employees whenever their pay rate or any of the above information changes.
