We are proud to lend support to the Nanny Relief Fund, a newly-launched nonprofit organization assisting in-home caregivers in their times of need. Many nannies are especially at risk during this health crisis as they may be overlooked by traditional labor protections such as paid leave and unemployment benefits.<\/p><\/div>\n

GTM Payroll Services is proud to lend support to the Nanny Relief Fund<\/a>, a newly-launched nonprofit organization serving workers in the household employment industry.<\/p>\n

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted everyone, and many nannies are especially at risk during this time as they may be overlooked by traditional labor protections such as paid leave and unemployment benefits.<\/p>\n

The Nanny Relief Fund looks to assist in-home caregivers with tangible support in their times of need.<\/p>\n

The Nanny Relief Fund will give peace of mind to the cherished nannies who care for children and often times become part of their employer’s families.<\/p>\n

Thousands of GTM clients across the country are paying their employees the right way so their nannies are eligible for paid leave and unemployment. Unfortunately, too many others are paid under the table and left vulnerable during this health crisis.<\/p>\n

While federal legislation like the Families First Coronavirus Response Act<\/a> and the CARES Act provide extra paid sick and family leave and expanded unemployment benefits<\/a>, many nannies may not be able to take full advantage of these protections because they are not paid legally.<\/p>\n

Families with household help are considered employers and must remit Social Security, Medicare, and unemployment taxes and other state taxes<\/a> as required. Failing to do so denies their employees many benefits like workers\u2019 compensation and disability insurance as well as unemployment and paid sick leave. Non-compliance also leaves families vulnerable to significant fines and penalties and payment of back taxes<\/a> if they get caught.<\/p>\n

The Nanny Relief Fund is continuing to accept donations<\/a> from individuals and businesses.<\/p>\n

Nannies can visit the Nanny Relief Funds\u2019 website<\/a> to apply for consideration when funds become available.<\/p>\n
