A summary of the program is below.<\/p>\n<table border=\"1\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"left\" valign=\"top\"><b>Which employers are covered?<\/b><\/td>\n<td align=\"left\" valign=\"top\">Employers with <strong>one<\/strong><b>\u00a0or more employees<\/b><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"left\" valign=\"top\"><b>Which individuals are eligible for leave?<\/b><\/td>\n<td align=\"left\" valign=\"top\">Employees who meet financial eligibility requirements for unemployment insurance (earned at least $4,700 during the last four completed calendar quarters, and 30 times the weekly benefit amount they would be eligible to collect)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"left\" valign=\"top\"><b>Which life events qualify for leave?<\/b><\/td>\n<td align=\"left\" valign=\"top\">\n<ul>\n<li>The birth of a child;<\/li>\n<li>The need to care for a family member with a serious health condition; and<\/li>\n<li>The employee\u2019s own serious health condition.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"left\" valign=\"top\"><b>How long can leave last?<\/b><\/td>\n<td align=\"left\" valign=\"top\">\n<ul>\n<li>Up to 12 weeks in a year for the birth of a child or to care for a family member with a serious health condition.<\/li>\n<li>Up to 20 weeks in a year for the serious health condition of the employee.<\/li>\n<li>If an employee elects to use leave for more than one life event, 26 weeks in a year at most.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"left\" valign=\"top\"><b>Who pays for the paid leave?<\/b><\/td>\n<td align=\"left\" valign=\"top\">Both the employer and the employee.
