This new requirement becomes effective on Jan. 1, 2023.<\/p>\n<p>New York requires employers to display a number of posters to inform employees of their rights and protections under state labor laws. The required workplace posters are available for employers free of charge through the <a href=\"https:\/\/dol.ny.gov\/posting-requirements-0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NYDOL\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Veteran Benefits Poster<\/h2>\n<p>Beginning Jan. 1, 2023, the New York Department of Labor (NYDOL) will require employers <strong>with 50 or more employees<\/strong> to display a new poster describing veteran benefits and services. The NYDOL will collaborate with the Division of Veteran Affairs to create this new poster.<\/p>\n<p>At a minimum, the poster will include information on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Division of Veterans\u2019 Services and the department\u2019s veterans\u2019 program;<\/li>\n<li>Substance abuse and mental health treatment;<\/li>\n<li>Educational, workforce, and training resources;<\/li>\n<li>Tax benefits;<\/li>\n<li>New York veteran driver\u2019s licenses and nondriver identification cards;<\/li>\n<li>Unemployment benefits eligibility under state and federal law;<\/li>\n<li>Legal services; and<\/li>\n<li>The federal veterans\u2019 crisis line.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Veteran Benefits Poster Impact on New York Employers<\/h2>\n<p>Although the NYDOL has not yet published the new poster, employers with 50 or more employees should become familiar with this new requirement and prepare to comply with the new poster requirement by Jan. 1, 2023.
