<\/h2>\n<\/h2>\nNew York paid family leave provides eligible employees up to 12 weeks of job-protected, paid time off to bond with a new child, care for a family member with a serious health condition, or handle personal matters when a family member is deployed abroad on active military service.<\/p>\n
Paid family leave is also available in some situations when an employee or their minor, dependent child is under an order of quarantine or isolation due to COVID-19.<\/p>\n
Employees taking paid family leave receive 67 percent of their average weekly wage, up to a cap of 67 percent of the current statewide average weekly wage (SAWW). For 2022, the SAWW is $1,594.57.<\/p>\n
New York state\u2019s Department of Financial Services has\u00a0released the paid family leave employee contribution rate for 2022<\/a>. In addition, the 2022 maximum benefit amount is now available.<\/p>\n New York paid family leave is funded completely through employee contributions. The contribution rate beginning January 1, 2022, has been set at the same level as calendar year 2021: 0.506 percent, plus a risk adjustment of 0.005 percent, for a total of 0.511 percent of an employee\u2019s wages each pay period<\/b>.
